Match report The toss was lost on a pitch which was pretty good quality for a 3rd pitch but a good yomp from the club house. We were inserted.

Immediately a very canny left arm bowler and a disciplined young bowler had us in trouble and wickets went very quickly. Suddenly we were 25-6 then 48-7 and talk was of how soon we would be at the home club bar to watch the games there.

But the yonugsters Oscar Dale and Josh Maddison had other ideas and played their shots freely with good eye. Runs flowed quickly and the opposition bowling felt the pressure. Even bringing back the opening bowlers made no difference at all.

In the end Josh hit a good 32 and Oscar his maiden 50 in all forms of cricket to take us to a very respectable 150.

In the field, after a decent tea and what seemed ages after the long walk there and back, David Wells and Dipesh set to work. 3 wickets were down after their good first spells and Josh and Mark took over. When the number 4 turned down a single from the number 5 to protect him we knew they had batting problems.

The wickets started to flow and Camryn came on to help finish things off taking the last wicket at 90. A fantastic come back win, with Oscar Dale nominated as the man of the match for the lub for his superb knock.

Well done all, and especially the battling youngsters, who showed the adults how to do it.
