Berkhamsted Cricket Club - Disabilities Cricket

Berkhamsted Cricket Club is now offering Disability Cricket

Disability Cricket Coaching sessions are being run at Berkhamsted Cricket Club this summer (2026).The sessions take place at our ground (on the main pitch outfield in front of the pavilion) on Monday evenings from 6pm to 7pm and are run by experienced qualified coaches Alec and James Clarke.  These sessions start on April 27th and will continue throughout the summer until the end of August. All equipment is provided. We welcome children aged 5 and above right up to adult.

If you or your children wish to participate, please come along. It would help us be better prepared if you could email Julian Dent on jdent@viaint.com in advance with the names, ages and some information about you or your child's special needs.

You are welcome to come along to two sessions without charge to see if you would like to continue. If you do join the Club, the fees are £100 for the summer and include a free Club cricket shirt. If you have a Dacorum Card, please contact Julian as we can make special arrangements for you.

Cricket is an inclusive sport by its nature; a sport that many people play, follow and have a passion for, for life. Across England and Wales, the ECB wish to support cricket clubs to open their gates and deliver cricket opportunities for those with disabilities.

Berkhamsted Cricket Club is proud to be part of the Disability Cricket Champion Club Programme. This programme  supports cricket clubs through guidance, resource and equipment, enabling them to welcome individuals with additional needs and varying abilities to support them to play, follow, officiate and volunteer. Creating a truly equitable club game and providing fantastic new opportunities for cricketers and for the Champion Clubs.

BCC is a hub for disabilities cricket for our town and local area. We have partnered with Herts Cricket and Egerton-Rothsay School to run some cricket coaching sessions for some of their pupils and are now extending this to reach children in the local primary schools. We also welcome older children  and adults with disabilities of any kind.

We will be hosting a Lords Taverners "Super 1s" Disabilities Cricket festival on Festival on 17th June.
