Match report A gorgeous summer afternoon and the reverse game against Hemel gave us a chance to give different players game experience. We won the toss (again) and decided to bat in perfect conditions.

Hemel showed in the last game they had a couple of bowlers who can bowl straight so there was an element of caution as Charlie Doe and Jack Pemberton opened the innings but, after playing themselves in, the pair soon cut loose smashing some savage shots in particular Pemberton who twice nearly decapitated his Dad with huge 6's! Both retired within 10 overs, Oliver Todd and Will Hunt took over offering Hemel no relief to complete their own retirements, James Nangle and Charlie Lound finished things off with some good hitting and we got to 158/0, no wickets lost, good innings!

Opening bowlers Ben Oldham and Luke Hopcroft immediately put the pressure on Hemel conceding only a single run in the first 3 overs before Hopcroft took the first wicket. Will Stanford followed continuing his good form taking another quick wicket. Hemel fought back and put together a couple of decent partnership but never scored at the required rate. The bowling continued to be tight and wickets were shared around with James Nangle, Charlie Lound, Billy Mackay and Oliver Todd all taking one. Catches were all held, Ben Oldham took 2 and Charlie Doe took a terrific one at slip to give Hopcroft his 3rd wicket. Special mention to fill in wicket keeper Harry Oldham who got involved with a quick thinking stumping and run out. Hemel were restricted to 79/9 in the end.

All in all a solid all round team performance with everyone contributing. This should give confidence for the upcoming crunch games that will decide the league.
