Match report A game we should have won, definately should have won, could have lost and definately could have lost!!!

Winning the toss for once, we elected to bowl on a very good wicket. The effort by the visitors was good and they worked towards a par score of 200. Again James and Ezard bowled the majority but a big mention has to go to Ben Beard on his second team debut, the youngster picking up two wickets at a miserly economy rate of 2.

The run chase started well with the score on 65-0 after 15 overs. But three quick wickets meant a period of consolidation which left the lower middle order with a lot of work to do. However both Darren James and Ian Sudbery batted fantastically well to push us close to victory, unfortunately the overs crept up on us and we fell 14 runs short with only two wickets in hand.

In summary a poor fielding performance, a great debut from Ben Beard and some superb batting from Ian Sudbery.

Next week we are away, yet again, this time in Leverstock Green.
