Match report A bad toss to lose, resulting in a frustrating draw.

After being inserted on a track resembling wet plasticine, David Westley and Toby AKA Phillips flayed the bowling, rattling up 50 in a little over 6 overs, with Phillips going on to score 59. Dent helped maintain the momentum with a mix of knurdles and bold strokes to reach 54, his departure bringing the O'Dair father and son combination together for the first time for Berkhamsted. A final flurry from Ben Beard just failed by 1 run to gather maximum batting points.

Sawbridgeworth's start saw three wickets down for 2 runs (even after the skipper showed the colts the importance of [not] gathering the ball before breaking the stumps for a run out...), bringing in their best 2 batsmen. An astonishing in-cutter from Westley removed their danger man and Ledger accounted for the other during a good spell of accurate bowling bringing him 4 wickets and reducing Sawbridgeworth to 57 for 7 at 25 overs At this point they put up the shutters and scored at barely a run an over for the next 18 overs, and despite mixing up the bowling, Berko were unable to get more than one more wicket.

Berko 16 points, Sawbridgeworth 5 is a fair reflection of the outcome, though a crushing victory would have resulting from winning the toss.
