Match report Toss won again and opted to bat. With deep batting it was worth setting a total.

A young left arm opener was having trouble with lines and bowling wides, even round the wicket but found two straight ones to castle Jamie and Stephen after a promising start. Brownie was the hero of the batting, building very strongly from there, with Puds and Tim in particular and he surged at the end to hit a superb century. Hitting was missed at the end and it was a tad disappointing to be below 250.

Very disappointing to have the opposition take 3 and a quarter hours over bowling their overs. Much too slow.

Phil was slightly injured from batting and we were short of openers, turning to Tim to have a go downhill. He was troubled by the unfamiliar slope and his line suffered, but did manage to remove one of the openers.

From there the numbers 3 and 4 built and took advantage of bad balls. There were too many from us, but Phil opted to bowl despite injury and was a hero again with 16 runs off 9 overs.

But we had too few bowlers able to bowl disciplined lines and they were strong in batting. In the end it was a win for them with 1.2 overs left. Ruing not getting those extra runs at the end.
