Match report Due to severe delays on the M25 and the fact that their student players could not get out of bed, the game finally started at 13.45, with Charlie winning the toss again and electing to have a bat first. Conditions were ideal - the track looked a good one - but do not tell Puds.

A steady and solid start from the openers, Ben and Pete, then acccelerated nicely to a terrific base before Ben ran himself out on 49. We were set fair at 84 for one. Pete continued his good work to make a fine 70 when he was finally out - an excellent knock. Puds, Max and Ed made all too brief an appearance at the crease and it was left to Dave-out of retirement-Crispin to show us how to do it. Ably supprted by Antonelli , who hit some cracking straight drives for 22, Dave made a quick 52. Hussey, Merrett and Harrison all died chasing quick runs at the end but with Ez, doubled his total for the year, with 1 not out.

Jordan and Ian opened and bowled with pace. Jordan was unlucky not to pick up wickets but Ian deservedly took the first two. Goodwyn embarassed out a couple more, but then the oppo with only 4 down appeared to settle for the draw, 20 overs out. We kept at them with Antonelli and Ez both picking up a wicket each - Antonelli with the crucial wicket of 'front foot foward-Red Cap'. With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Charlie threw the ball to Max. Maybe he was trying to knock Jordan's head off, but with some good pace, Max polished off the rest taking an excellent 4 for 12. Despite the late start, thanks to Max, we finished on time, with Micky sitting in the bar proudly informing those who were there of his 'five-for'. A good win bearing in mind the oppo's decision to go for the draw so early.
