Booking cricket training facilities for Seniors

19 May 2020

Dear Members - This message only applies to club members over the age of 18.

As most of you are aware there is new government advice over the resumption of recreational sports practice.    At present, our nets have been de-commissioned and the new nets will not be available until mid-June, therefore to provide practice facilities in the interim period we have created 2 grass wickets, one of 19 yards for juniors and one of 22 yards for seniors - which can be booked by members for practice sessions.

Due to the ongoing lockdown situation we have to place certain restrictions and conditions of use on this activity. The key points to bear in mind are as follows:

*    As spaces are limited we will only accept bookings from paid up club members.

*    Senior members can book a 1-1 coaching session with James Bell - to do this contact James directly and he can tell you what slots are available.

jamesbellcricket@gmail.com

*    There is no charge for 1-1 sessions.  Each session is for a maximum of 50 minutes.

*    Paid up club members may also book a wicket to practice as a pair. Whilst these sessions are unsupervised they will need to be booked with Luke Frey so he can arrange access to the club for you.  Contact Luke at luke@gorgeousshop.com should you wish to do this and he can advise on slots available.    Please note members must bring their own equipment (including practice balls) as the only items that will be provided by the club will be the stumps (and possibly some makeshift netting) which will need to be returned to the shed at the end of each session.

*    At all times members from different households must adhere to social distancing guidelines of 2m whilst at the club.

Please note that current government regulations forbid groups of more than 2 people from different households meeting up for activities and this must be strictly adhered to.    Clearly, if this is relaxed we can review our own arrangements.  Please also note that the clubhouse remains closed until further notice.

Anyone under the age of 18 wanting to use the practice facilities MUST contact Mark Lewarne to discuss options rmlewarne@gmail.com

This will obviously become a lot easier to manage when our nets are back in action and we will write to everyone again at that juncture.
