Hemel Hempstead v Berkhamsted Cricket Club U14 A on Fri 22 May 2009 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Hemel won by 5 wickets

Match report An exciting match with Hemel sneaking home with just 4 balls to spare. Berkhamsted batted first with Josh Roberts and Jonny Harvey putting on 50 for the first wicket. This gave us a good platform to push on to three figures but unfortunately the innings fell away with some fairly ugly slogging against Hemels two leg spinners. As a consequence Hemels wicketkeeper had a field day with 3 stumpings and we finished on what looked like an insufficient 86 off our 20 overs.

The boys responded with some excellent bowling - accurate and straight - resulting in two catches behind the wicket for Nick Williams and three batsmen clean bowled. It was Leighton for Hemel however who would play the decisive innings mainly playing into the legside for 35 not out to get the home team through for the win in the final over. A good performance from Berko in the field which should give them confidence for the remainder of the season.
