Match report Berkhamsted U11s finished the league season unbeaten at the top of the group but they were pushed all the way in this game by a spirited Kings Langley team. Batting first, Berko struggled to score runs, thanks largely to some excellent bowling from Toby and Joe T. Anna Nicholls (27 not out) top scored and brother Charlie chipped in with an aggressive 20. In reply, Kings Langley started well with the opening pair of Chris and Ollie putting on 30 for the first wicket. A solid partnership between Joe T (28) and Sam J (7) looked to be turning the game KL's way, but a great run out from Harvey Lewis put the pressure back on the visitors. Three more wickets fell in a superb over from Jonathan Butler Caddle, but KL refused to lie down and they went into the final two overs needing 16 runs to win. Despite some nervy fielding and several overthrows, Berko managed to hang on, but full credit to the Kings Langley side who could so easily have won the game.
