Match report The Royals slipped to another defeat on a warm afternoon at Kitcheners. With Peps back at the helm as skipper we batted first but got off to a stuttering start with Jacob, Matt and Jess back in the pavilion fairly quickly. Steen and OC steadied the innings, Steen going onto a debut 50 for the club. Towards the end of the innings Puds teed off and peppered the legside boundary with 3 sixes and being well supported by Steve we managed to add 69 runs in the last 6 overs to lift our score to 189.

Boxmoor's innings started steadily against tidy bowling from Tom and John and if we had all bowled as economically as Tom the game would have been in the bag - 8 overs for just 19 runs, well bowled. OC also bowled very well and picked up 2 wickets. Their opener scored a good 80 but we put him down a couple of times. Peps plan was to bowl Jess at the death but unfortunately she hurt her back and had to stop mid over and in a frantic last couple of overs the game slipped through our fingers, Boxmoor winning with 5 balls to spare.


The redeeming factor in these defeats is that we are scoring runs and picking up bonus points so we remain third from bottom of the table (but still with no wins!)
