Match report Berkhamsted win by 10 wickets in the 5th over

In a reduced over match, due to a late start Berkhamsted lost the toss and were sent in to bat. West Herts fielded an inexperienced team and were no match for Berkhamsted bowling and fielding. Zubair was WH top scorer was dismissed bowled George Almond caught Robert Parker for 6 runs. Robert Parker also bowled Metash for 2 and Alexander Wooldridge bowled Riaz for a duck. George Almond and Hamish Jarvie bowled maiden overs. West Herts left Berkhamstead a modest total of 30 runs to Chase.

In the spirit of the game Berkhamsted decided to open the batting with our wicket keeper and to bat at the top of the order the boys who had only bowled only one over. As it turned out only the opening pair were needed. West Herts opening bowler A Khan was genuinely fast, however our Wicket keeper Peter McCall hit two 4's off him in the first over. The other bowlers while bowling tidily were no match for Berko opening partnership. Peter had most of the strike and scored 22 runs which include 4X4's and Oliver Nicolls batted and ran sensibly and supported Peter to score 5 runs.

Berko won the match in the 5th over with the opening partnership not out.
Ben Shelly ably captained the Berkhamsted team in a match that was played in a good spirit.
