Match report The Saturday 2nd XI managed another win this time away to Bayford & Hertford.

With good weather, a great wicket and super fast outfield the skipper won the toss and elected to ....... bowl!!!!

The home team started well but were pegged back by a couple of quick wickets and a suicidal runout! Bayford & Hertford then continued to lose wickets and had some help from our skipper who managed to drop the main run getter on not very many!

The hosts finished their innings on 190-9 in main due to an excellent 5 wicket haul from Paul Langley and some tidy bowling from Ian Dent and SUDDERS! Also, yet again, we managed to contribute a good team fielding performance.

Our run chase saw a couple of wickets fall early, but we seemed to be cruising at 115-2 with Brownie batting well, unfortunately a cluster of wickets fell leaving our usual opener Dave Chrispin, batting at number 8 due to a hamstring injury, to strike the winnings runs in a tense finish that could have seen the result end in all three possibilities.

Overall a good win which leaves us in the upper middle area of the league, looking forward to a ......... yes you guessed, another away match, this time at Knebworth Park III!
