Match report The rain stopped just in time for Berko to take on a young Hemel side. The boys took full advantage piling on the runs starting with the Oldham twins. Harry took the lead to start with, finishing his innings with a magnificent 6 to score a rare 34 at U11 level. Ben then took over hitting a 4 off his last ball for a fantastic 33. Oliver Todd, as ever, provided solid support and built his own innings to retire on 30 before Ollie Carolin smashed 32 off 20 balls as the team accelerated. Ben Merrett and Jack Pemberton finished things off with Jack clubbing 14 off the last over for a massive total of 165/0.

Hemel were always up against it needing 8+ an over with a team containing 8 and 9 year olds. James Nangle and Theo Tyszkiewicz opened the bowling and tore through the top order with 2 wickets a piece, Ben Oldham taking 2 slip catches. A piece of sensational fielding then did for Hemel's strongest batsmen with Harry Oldham throwing himself at a ball that was heading for 4 and not only stopping the ball and saving the runs but popping it up for a supporting Ollie Carolin who turned and threw down the wicket from the boundary to run out the unfortunate batsman, this had supporters from both sides applauding! Hemel showed character to bat for nearly 15 overs but succumbed to accurate bowling with Sam Durrant, Oliver Todd, Oliver Carolin and Ben Merrett taking the wickets. Credit to Lewis Lavin for stopping pretty much everything behind the stumps too.

Congratulations boys, another great win for the team, 7 wins in a row now with one more to come..roll on Tring next Tuesday.
