Match report A great match played in excellent spirits by both sides. Joe and Josh were just a bit too good for their batsmen who couldn't lay a bat on anything they bowled. So when you need wickets who do you turn to, the pie chuckers Atkins senior and Peps...Jake tried to do it the decent way by bowling immaculate line and length and he was rewarded but the honours went to the oldies. Poor Joe, after finally getting a batsman to nick one, his dad promptly dropped the catch at second slip and then went on to get 4 wickets of his own and hold 4 other catches....the poor young lad was in pieces.
We did our best to mess up the run chase trying to hit their pie chuckers out of the ground and getting ourselves out. All was not lost, Sam played a blinder. He deserved a 50 but was 47 n.o. at the end as he and the ever youthful Peps knocked off the target with 3 overs to spare. A last word on the superb display of captaincy from the young intrepid Jack. His bowling changes were masterful and his field positions top drawer...Gap year and 2's captain next season Jack?????????
