Match report Our inuagural, youthfull sunday 2nd's took to the field on a rare sunny sunday to take on the colourfully named 'Full Tossers' cc, with what looked on paper a strong young bowling side we opened with Jack and the wiley (not so young) boris, restricting the oppo as maiden after maiden was bowled until Boris (having diplomatically not appealing for an aparently plumb lbw by saying, hmm, i wont appeal but that was close) then 2 balls later cleaned the opener up bowled. Jack bowling his opening 6 overs for only a measly 6 runs took 2 more wickets as did Boris who snared another, and with Jake nicking out there number 6, the oppo were 30-5. from then on it became clear the batting was getting stronger as it went down and an excellent mid innings partnership for the 6th wicket with boundaries a plenty suddenly took the score well past 120, despite a great Jake diving catch, and some good death bowling by Rob, we were left to chase 186 on a slow track.
Pinch hitter prunty lined up his second ball over cow, but mistimed and was luckily dropped, only to be caught moments later, Josh batted well and ran well and timed the ball well until he was superbly caught at long on, then a procession of wickets fell as it looked like we would not bat out our overs, but credit to Jack Hunter, Ben Chalmers and Jake who all batted well to at least bat out the overs, although a heavy defeat, Everyone had a game and Jack Filer kept well for the second day in a row, and overall the game was played in a great spirit. Well done Jack on his first captaincy
