Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won BCC won by 3 runs

Match report A truly thrilling encounter between two very evenly matched sides saw the U12Bs post their first win of the season!
BCC won the toss and opted to bat and straight away James (30no) and Oliver 24 attacked the Tring bowling with gusto and had the scoreboard ticking over at between 5 and 6 an over. It wasn’t until the 15th over that the partnership was broken (85-1) and thereafter Tring began to get themselves back into the game with some good tight bowling. With wickets in hand BCC tried to force the pace for the final overs and managed to reach 100-4 on the last ball of the innings.
A score of 100 was always achievable for Tring knowing their performance in the reverse fixture, so BCC had to be on their toes in the field. Some good line and length from Tom, Dominic, Daniel F and Marcus kept the run-rate below the required rate for the first 8 overs but a couple of wickets for Marcus brought in Lauren who played some beautiful shots for a great 29. Tring kept up the pressure until James picked up a couple of wickets to stem the flow to swing the game back to BCC. So we were down to the last over and 5 required for Tring, but with wickets in hand. A sublime piece of fielding by Daniel Crispin ran out Lauren, and then followed a further run-out with Tring chasing those last runs. 2 balls left, 4 required to win, 1 wicket left……..a good length ball and Tring take a chance but the batsmen is sent back but fails to make his ground as James collects the bails for a memorable win.
A huge thank you to the U11s and U10s who made up half the BCC side and who all played very well. Also thanks to the Tring boys and girls for a great game of cricket.
