Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 15A v Tring Park on Tue 26 Jun 2012 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won by 63 runs
Match report
Such has been the development of our U15s this season we are rather regretting not moving them up to the A league - it has unfortunately resulted in some rather one sided games, this being another. Nevertheless what has been fantastic has been the enjoyment the lads have shown in simply playing the game. Casey had captained truly within the spirit of cricket and everyone has been made to feel a valuable part of the team.
With our batting maestro Dan missing we drafted in George Lewarne from the U14s and he didnt disappoint with an intelligent and graceful batting display, cruising to an unbeaten half century. There were also impressive contributions from Nick (43) and Peter(27) whilst Ben Shelley cleverly rotated the strike with singles in his partnership with George.
Casey shared around the overs and the wickets were equally shared as Tring struggled to score runs. Casey himself took 3 catches, two of which were really difficult and despite the gloomy conditions stand in keeper Peter kept really well. The 19th over was the most dramatic, Nick bowling to a 7 man slip cordon and taking 3 wickets to finish the game, much to the delight of the lads.
We now have to wait and see if we have qualified for finals day which may be very tricky with a number of boys away on a field trip.
