Match report Berkhamsted nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory but the calmest man on the pitch Ben Atkins capped a man of the match bowling performance by chipping the opening bowler over square leg for 4 to win the match. Opening the bowling Atkins bowled fast and straight to remove 4 of the top 5 Abbots batsmen. Bowling figures of 4 overs 2 maidens 4 for 5 don't do justice as a 5 fer was a nailed on for everyone except the umpire who needs a bit of an ear syringe. A brief rally by Tahir got Abbots up to a reasonable total but one that looked short on a fast outfield. Berkhamsted began the chase badly losing Sibley in the first over followed by Shelley who hit a full toss straight back to mid off. Captain Casey and 1st Lieutenant McCall got us within sight before the wheels came off badly. Needing 16 to win, wickets went down like nine pins before Ben 'I dont do panic' Atkins helped himself to the short legside boundary. It's official the manager has now got a head of grey hair.
