Match report A better performance than our last outing against Dunstable but this was a match that we should have won as crucial dropped catches off the AB big hitters (who both went on to make 33 and 26 respectively) and an abundance of extras (42) undid some fine bowling, batting and fielding.

AB batted first and with plenty of gusto got the scoreboard flying at almost 10 an over. However some better line and length from Alderson and Tracey stemmed the flow and BCC began to get into the game with 3 wickets in relatively quick succession (one a sharp catch behind the stumps by Ormerod). However the wides and no-balls again crept in and so with it AB were able to drag their score beyond the 100 and post a reasonable 124 for 4.

This was well within BCC's reach and Nel took the fight to the AB bowlers and dismissed anything wide to the boundary retiring on a handsome 32. Alderson, Ormerod and Pierleoni all contributed but not one of them could quite settle against some sharper AB bowling. A couple of quick wickets, then gave AB the advantage once more. A patient innings by O'Gorman steadied the ship and some good running between the wickets meant it was always going to be close. Unfortunately the run rate dropped and as such we were left with just too much to do at the end.
