Match report The U13As - with the help of five younger players - produced a solid performance to beat Kings Langley by 26 runs. Jonathan Butler Caddle and George Lewarne both retired unbeaten on 30 and George Carter played some lovely shots in a quickfire 20. Kings Langley bowled very straight, so our score of 120 for 4 was a respectable effort.

We had to work hard for wickets as the home team battled well, and it wasn't until the final three or four overs that the game slipped out of their reach. Harvey Lewis and Ted Stanford were both unlucky not to pick up wickets after seeing several chances go down in the field, but everybody bowled well - including Dan Macey and Ed Holderness, and with the game fairly safe, both the U10s - Tom Lewis and Charlie Mann had an over - Tom bowling good line and length and Charlie picking up a wicket with his first delivery (!). Lewarne and Butler-Caddle got the other wickets and Dan Macey bagged a run out after some good work in the field.

Not an easy game, but the win takes us back to the top of the division by a single point from Langleybury - who we face next on June 7.
