Match report After the struggle of getting team out in the early matches of the season, it was good to see the old vanguard back in whites and taking stance at the stumps.
Flitwick won the toss and put Berkhamsted into bat. In every match this season the ones have demonstrated the strength and excellence of their bowling attack and in this match were at last able to support this with some strong batting performances. With Nick getting a start and good scores posted by AJ and James S the mood on the verandah was up beat and Ollie Janaway followed this up with a very creditable and well deserved 104 off 96 balls. To add icing to the cake he topped this off by taking 4 wickets for 18 runs. He was ably supported in the wicket taking stakes by Seb Smith who also took 4 wickets, narrowly missing out on a hat trick in his fourth over. Steve Dight finished off the innings, taking the final wicket in the third ball of his second over (payback for the 4 the batsman dared to take off the previous ball?)
