Match report Its never boring watching the U15Bs and it was another entertaining evening down at Boxmoor on a sunny evening. Most of our batters eschew the idea of the forward defensive favouring the huge agricultural swipe method (MCC textbook page 29). This tends to produce lots of action and last night was no different, as we quickly subsided to 26 for 4. Nick Williams and Jack Hunter then went on the counter-attack surviving some of the worst calling and running between the wickets since the days of Sir Geoffrey to build a 50 partnership. With the help of 30 extras and a valuable contribution from Libby batting at no 10 we scrambled up to 129 off our 20 overs.

Our opening bowlers seemed determined to make it a close game with an assortment of wides, no balls, full tosses and long hops and after 4 overs Boxmoor had raced to 35 for 0. Nick Williams then struck with his legspin and the introduction of Jacob Lewarne absolutely killed the run rate - 3 overs for 3 runs just what the doctor ordered. Enter our new strike bowler Theo Freedman who emboldened by 2 wickets in the last game has his eyes on a new career. He didnt disappoint, taking 5 wickets for just 11 runs with well pitched floating inswingers. Theo was well supported by Max jenkinson who with a similar bowling style to Theo took 2 for 12. As usual with this team the fielding was excellent and the catching very reliable.

This game, our 6th consecutive win, secured our place on Finals Day on July 17th.
