Match report A convincing win by the Under 16 boys against close rivals Tring.
Unfortunately Tring were never in the contest. After a great opening partnership by Hubbard and Hopkins,the scoreboard read 95 for 0 off just the first 7 overs. This resulted in both players retiring for half centuries. Hopkins 51 coming off 15 balls. However a quicker innings was yet to come, Steed reaching his 50 off just 14 balls at number 4. The other major contributor to the innings was Harrison who made a tidy 30 at number 6.
Overall a very good score but things were greatly helped from some ordinary bowling and fielding from the Tring side.
With the ball Berkhamsted started strongly with Furlong taking a great catch off the bowling of Harrison in the first over. From this moment on Berkhamsted controlled the innings and the run rate never got above 6, and Tring limped along to finish at 95 for 4.
A good win but plenty of areas for improvement building up to the next game.
