Match report A good performance by the U15s (as usual supported by U14s)on a fairly poor pitch described by their scorer as a fifth day Pakistan test pitch i.e low bounce and lots of spin. We batted first and its fair to say all the batsmen found it hard to time the ball and boundaries were rare, especially as the boundary line was about a mile away and the outfield was bumpy and slow. After 10 overs we only had 42 runs but then a good partnership between Ethan and Jonny raised the tempo. Jonny in particular was patient, waited for the bad ball and then made the most of it, finishing on 40 not out as we racked up 105, not a bad score in the conditions.

St Albans reply never got going, and after 8 overs they were effectively out of the contest on 10-3. Most of our lads had a bowl but the star turn was Ed Sibley who probably would like to take this pitch home with him. Ed took 3 for 5 off his 4 overs and flighted the ball really well. Only black mark against the team was a total of 30 extras out of a St Albans score of 64. When are we going to stop bowling wides chaps??
