Tring Park 2 v Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 13A on Wed 12 May 2010 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won Berkhamsted won by 9 wickets
Match report
We finally got to play some cricket in the dry last night at Tring. Lead by Captain Casey we fielded first and it was obvious from the first ball that Tring were not going to be able to cope against our strong bowling attack.
There was a brief defence from the openers but bowling line and length always brings results. Atkins having one caught and bowled, Macatamney knocking over the stumps on 2 occasions and Jarvie and McCall also knocking over the woodwork. All the bowlers chipped in.
As the runs dried to a trickle we were able to give all the team a bowl and as is becoming the norm with this squad nobody let us down. We also had another attempt to grab the champagne moment of the season yesterday when James "strong arm" Spall threw down the stumps from long off to remove the one batsman who was making any progress against us.
With a meagre total of 59 to chase we were never going to be in danger.
Georgie "straight bat" Almond and Adam "clean sweep" Sibley set about the task with gusto and were soon well ahead of the target. Poor Sibley got one that took 3 bounces before hitting his toe and was promptly given out LBW by the less than charitable umpire (Me, sorry Adam).
In came young Campbell the wicket keeper and it was game over as he and Almond crashed the ball all over the park to see us home in 10 overs.
Well done boys another fine performance with a good debut from Casey O'G as captain.
