Match report We put on a much improved batting performance last night but lost out to some fine strokeplay from Rickmansworth in reply.

Put into bat, I was delighted with the way the boys showed great concentration and application to the task throughout, with some good clear calling and generally much better awareness at the crease. Admittedly we were fortunate with some risky singles but I felt we earned a bit of luck with the way we played. Good knocks from Jack (top-scoring with 14 including 2 4s), Dominic (5), Michael and Zac (4 each).

In the field, we bowled with a lot of accuracy and consistency, Dominic and Conall off to a flying start against the first pair, taking 2 wickets for only a net 4. Next into the attack, Seb and Zac kept the score down to 225 at the half-way point but by then the Rickmansworth middle order were starting to get their eye in and punishing any slightly loose deliveries. Will and Jack closed out the bowling against the final pair, Jack getting a wicket in the last over during a fine spell. Alas, it came a bit too late but we certainly made a game of it until the very end.

Well done boys. Very pleased with this performance, despite the result!
We were beaten convincingly at home by Rickmansworth earlier in the season so it shows that we've really come on over the last few weeks.
