Match report Berkhamsted U11s earned themselves a place at County Finals day for the second successive year after beating Harpenden in the quarter final at Kitchener's Field. Having won the toss, Harpenden batted well and made 107-5 with Armstrong retiring unbeaten on 30 after an excellent innings. Anna Nicholls was unlucky not to take wickets after bowling superbly but generally our attack lacked the consistency that's been key to their success do far this year. Fortunately, the batsmen made up for it. Charlie Nicholls (28) and Ted Stanford (22) put on 70 for the first wicket despite some very close shaves, and Charlie Lupton put the game beyond doubt with a quickfire 26 not out - including a six over mid-wicket to win the game. The semi finals await - let's hope we can go one better this year and bring the trophy home.
