Old Timer spotted on Club Roof!

10 Apr 2010

Look up on the clubhouse roof and you will see a wonderful sculpture of Old Father Time himself removing the bails!

This was hand-made by Ed Wilding and installed on the first anniversary of his late mother, Patty’s birthday.

Patty Wilding was a member for close on 60 years and had been a Vice President for many years in recognition of her years of service to the club in all sorts of roles.

Ed’s father, Dick Wilding still stands as the Second XI’s regular umpire. The figure of Old Father Time on the weather vane is based on the one at Lord’s, another ground with a recognisable slope to the square.
