Match report A disappointing game to lose, the opposition played well to rescue the game but we had it under our control more than once.

Batting,we were 80-2 with Pete and Dan B going well before the wickets went too quickly and without regard to the number of overs and wickets left. Too many shots that people regretted on an artificial surface where you had to be careful.

Bowling, we attacked well early on and, apart from a disciplined and correct opener who batted very well, we were working our way through them well. With 10 players in their side (we were, too, with a last minute drop out and an attempt to get a replacement failing to turn up, but that's another story.....) we had them 106-8 chasing our 130. Only 1 wicket left.

But Ben's last over went very awry and Charlie's return to finish it off was no better. It was then too late, even though 1 ball would do the trick, we couldn't find it.

A shout out for Will Gardener, bowling well and consistently for only 10 runs off his 8 overs and a well deserved wicket.
