Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost by 36 runs

Match report Toss was lost and St Albans batted first on a low pitch with incredibly varying bounce at one end. Matt bowled well to open but suffered an injury later to prevent continuation. He and Dharmin made good early inroads with 3 quick wickets but their middle order was strong and gradually they came out on top with a young batsman proving strong for a good 77 before treading on his stumps. They hit well later to take them over 200.

Their bowling was very strong with a very fast (for this level) U16 bowler who had our early batsmen jumping and making scoring hard. After a strong base set by Pete and Oscar, we sent in hitters to try to step up the rate but it didn't come off and the wickets went, batting for points in the end. St Albans told us that they had strong availability that week with half the side usually in their 3s and the young top scorer demoted from their 2s due to low scoring.

A good effort against a strong side.
