Match report The very dry pitch was situated on the very end of the square resulting in one boundary of no more than 30 yards. With a battery of mostly spin bowlers available this could be fun. Not encouraged by the oppo bringing a big bag of spare balls....

Toss lost and we were in the field on a hot day. Ian and Jess started pretty well, then Jess swapped for Jake and he got a breakthrough. From there a procession on hard hitters came to the wicket peppering the short and straight boundaries. George bowled well as our lone pace bowler but all others suffered.

In reply we were stifled by good quality bowling (several involved in the previous week's 2s game commented that this bowling attack was way better) and despite good batting by the Doe brothers - Charlie denied a 50 by an excellent throwing run out by their keeper - we were never in the hunt and looked to pick up batting points in the end helped by Jess knocking 13 off one latter over.

Well stuck at all against a side well belying their 9th plave status before the game.
