Match report Winning an enviable toss, Winchmore Hill opted to bat first. With a quick to lightening outfield and positive intent, the opposition built a steady start aside some early testing deliveries from both Rajib and Seb 'The sea bass' Smith. Despite losing their no.2 cheaply, Winchmore Hill built lasting partnerships thanks in turn to a bag of dropped catches. Particular captain's mention to Hugh 'The scorer' Barnett who bowled with maturity and confidence finishing with figures of 2-48 off ten overs. Rajib, Seb and Dave 'Sharjan' also contributing with 1,3,3 wickets respectively. Winchmore Hill - 247 all out.

Openers Jag 'The comeback kid' Patel and Ben Langley saw Berkhamsted off to an uninterrupted yet progressive start and despite a well crafted D Sherjan half century, Berkhamsted were unable to match the opposition's sustained partnerships, falling sadly short of the mark at 140-9 with Martin Ledger unable to bat due to injury. Further mention to Mike Antonelli who produced some technically eye catching stroke play towards the end of the innings.

Summary: dropped catches and lack of batting application lost the match for Berko against an opposition that we shouldn't have lost to. Greater integrity with the bat will be needed if we are to stay within promotion zones.

Next league fixture is at home vs. Broxbourne in a fortnight's time.
