Match report What an exciting game and probably one we should have won(well I would say that!) but a draw on the last ball of the day was quite astonishing.
We were asked to bat first and got off to a great star.Our first four batsmen took the score up to 264 and did not loose a wicket. Great scores from James(14),Edward H(7), Jack(10) ably supported by Matthew(1) put us in strong position. Unfortunately it was not one of Joe's luckiest days with the bat and a couple of run outs did not help the scoreline. Ben, however scored 9 and we held on to 260. Then came Daniel and Eddie D scoring 4 and 9 respectively. We also witnessed our first six of the season when Daniel hit a beauty over mid wicket.We ended the innings on 270.
We bowled tightly and gave very little away. However they also batted well and it was not until the 5th over that we took a wicket from a run out.Edward then was our only wicket taker with three wickets which was an excellent display of quick bowling. We were somewhat unlucky not to get more. As the overs were being used up the scores got closer and closer until the last ball where they needed 2 to win. We kept them to a single and the draw was the result.
Well done to all the boys and to Alex for soldiering on despite being sick!
