Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Chorleywood won by 1 run

Match report An incredibly close match was won by league leaders Chorleywood off the very last ball by just one run. C/Wood batted first and were kept in check by accurate bowling by Berko. In all we took 5 wickets and importantly didnt bowl many wides. Good wicket keeping by Eddie Duncombe and Ben Miles made sure there were few extras. Joe Mottershead took an excellent catch and C/Wood were restricted to just 222 - a very gettable total. When Berko batted every time we got close to the total we seemed to lose 2 wickets in a row and with minus 5 for each wicket we gradually slipped behind the run rate. Then a blitz of big hitting from Ben Miles who scored an unbeaten 19 got us within reach of another win. The last pair of Daniel Macey and Eddie Duncombe went into the final over needing just 6 to win - but a crucial wicket fell and despite a valiant effort from both boys we fell agonisingly short.

Our Under 10s are improving every week and with a little more confidence could be a very good team.
