Match report An excellent result achieved with one of our youngest ever teams. Batting first we got off to a horrible start with the Fulmer CC left arm opener bowling very straight and the ball keeping low on a soft pitch. We were very quickly 3-3. We recovered well with Ollie and Jacob batting patiently and grinding out the runs. Bertie came in and made a very useful 23 and there were some good boundaries from our bowlers at the end of the innings that lifted us to 128. After tea their openers came out and blasted a few fours until Finlee removed both openers, the first with a great yorker and the second bizarrely caught (juggled) by Oscar after it came off pad, shoulder and back of the bat. After that we struggled to take wickets until Charlie took 3 in an over, one courtesy of a very generous LBW from their umpire that had their no 3 rightly fuming. The only thing that stood between us and victory was a left hander who was clubbing it to all parts - cleverly Pete brought back Finlee and straight away Matthew took an excellent catch on the boundary to remove him. After that it was plain sailing with George cleaning up the tail, Rupert taking a couple of catches standing up. Well played everyone, a victory against the odds.
