Match report We had a good, competitive match tonight with the second of the two Tring teams. The result was very close but we just missed out again - Tring 251 (for 5), Berkhamsted 231 (for 5).

The standard of the bowling is improving but we are still giving away a few too many extras - 56 compared to Tring's 23. The fielding is starting to work very well with all of the boys showing good awareness on the pitch and initiative in backing up the wickets. The bowlers did well with wickets for Matthew (two) and one each for Jacob, Sam and Seb. The bowlers for the last batting pair did especially well and pinned the batsmen back to just one run and three extras, plus a wicket on the last ball! Well done Jacob, Ben, Sam and Matthew.

On the batting we actually beat Tring on runs scored; 48 against 35 so well done boys. There were some very good performances and some excellent shots played. Ben's flick off the legs to the boundary springs to mind but quite a few of the other boys scored well too. Sam topped the batting with 17 runs scored. Thanks to Charlie for stepping up as captain and well done to Max on his first game for the U9s.
