Match report The U14's kept up their 100% record this season after a nailbiting win against St Albans. Berkhamsted batted first for the third time in a row and despite some tight bowling managed to post a decent total of 113-3. Oliver Hopkins batted sensibly to see out the whole innings with 28no and Jordan Harrison was again in fine form, hitting his second half century in a row.
St Albans got off to a good start, but were pegged back as Ben Beard clean bowled two batsmen in his second over. However, the bowling in general was not its usual high standard as perhaps the pressure began to show. The match was in danger of slipping away until Hoppy produced a wicket maiden in the 15th over, which swung the game back in Berko's favour. The match was in doubt until the final ball, with 4 needed from it and 7 fielders guarding the boundary. Seb Smith held his nerve and Berko clung in for the win.
Once again an excellent team effort.
