Match report Toss lost for a change and we were inserted to bat. Dave and Peter had a 65 opening partnership before Peter was out and a few wickets went against slow bowling that was proving difficult to get away.

But Dave continued to build runs wisely and not try to hit the ball too hard. He built to 78 very good runs and was the base for the rest to have a go a bit. Ian and Harry hit some good runs from the last couple of overs to set a competitive 216.

Harry and Dharmin took a wicket each to set us going and Mark followed suit by taking 3 more and the target was looking distant for Wheathampstead. Spinners were changed and Ian took another wicket followed by Jamie getting a couple of peaches. By this point it was a question of could we work through the order and the tail was proving stubborn. The last wicket pair needed to last 3 overs and despite the best efforts of Harry, Jamie and then Mark, we couldn't get through.

Still, 19 points scored and a very good team performance again. Dave got the player of the day award for the club and well deserved, too.
