Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 13A v Hemel on Mon 21 May 2012 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Hemel won by 8 wickets

Match report Hi , A game of cricket in what actually seemed like cricket weather. Hemel won the toss and asked us to bat. Logan (13) and Jandre (7) got us off to a bright start before they were both run out ( by good fielding , not poor running between the wicket). George (21) and Dan(13) looked comfortable and we were ina strong position at 58 for 2 after 12 overs. Unfortunately, when they lost their wickets a colapse followed and at the end of our overs we had only 81 on the board with 8 wickets down.

After a quick pep talk the boys took to the field in a positive frame of mind and this was enhanced when Max clean bowled there opener, with a tremendous yorker, with the first ball of the innings. The Hemel batsmen then batted very sensibly, not taking any risks as they chased a small target . Dan took the only other wicket to fall, again with a well pitched up delivery knocking over the stumps and Hemel reached their target with a couple overs to spare.
A big positive from the match was the way the boys are developing as a team , there is a good banter between them and they showed good enthusism in the field. As a bowling unit I am trying to get the boys to pitch the ball up more , some of the boys tend to bowl too short.
