Match report We won through to the Final convincingly in the end but following an uncharacteristic batting display. Luke won the toss and elected to bat and Gareth and Adam set off nicely on a pitch with some uneven bounce. Gareth played some nice drives but the rest of our upper and middle order misfired badly against good West Herts bowling and we were grateful to Huw for an excellent 34 including 5 boundaries.

With only 145 on the board we needed to bowl well and with Seb struggling with a back injury it didnt look promising. However, the lads responded superbly and following a brilliant run out by Ben we absolutely strangled the run rate. Special mention to Luke and Ben who together bowled 15 overs for just 24 runs and 7 wickets. The other bowlers, in particular Romit and Sam, also bowled accurately without much luck. At 65-8 we took our foot off the gas a bit, dropped a couple of catches and the lads even had time to give The Economist an over, which went for 10 runs to general hilarity. Will Steed came on to wrap up proceedings and we were through to our fourth County final in consecutive years - a truly fantastic achievement, well done to all who played.
