Match report An away match in the pretty village of Redbourn saw a defeat for our sunday II, Arriving at the ground only to discover the outfield had a road going through it, we lost the toss and fielded, Ben and Jck bowled very tightly for the first 10 overs taking 2 quick wickets before Redbourn's no. 4 took to the liking of our change bowlers, threatening our cars precriously parked by cow corner as he peppered the boundaries. Mr Peplow, brought on for his devestating pace tempted the No.4 for a slog to reach his 100 and was caught at mid off by Derek one short of his ton, some ferocious hitting at the end brought redbourn up to a good total of 236-4 after there 40. Following tea, Andre decided he wanted a rest and let Guy take the first over (for his first time), although largely untroubled, the at 37-0 after 13 overs was behind the rate and for some bizzare reason Guy added to his large collection of interesting ways of getting out by somehow hitting a slow loopy wide ball that was almost off the strip straight to fine leg, then Adam was bowled looking for a big hit, then Andre missed a straight one to leave us in trouble at 60-3 after 20 overs. Thankfully Ben with Puds started to smack the ball through the gaps and a fair few boundary's until out 'guest' umpire felt obliged to raise his finger, leaving our hopes resting with Ben who sadly fell 2 runs shy of his 50. More starts from Simon, somehow caught by a worldy, and jack threatened to deliver, and a good knock from James last man out on 23 leaving poor old Pratty stranded 98 away from his ton, leaving us well short in the end on 174
