Match report A good team performance on a difficult slow pitch. Useful contributions from top 5 batters with Jacob and Bertie leading the way - then after a couple of unfortunate run outs the strength of our tail got us up to a respectable score. St Albans catching was superb and their spinners got extravagant turn.

St Albans got off to a rapid start but a change of pace (as so often happens) brought immediate results with Jess picking up 2 important wickets before having to leave the field after taking a nasty blow to the fingers in attempting a caught and bowled. Tom removed their dangerous opener and we were on our way. After that wickets were shared around and there was a great piece of fielding by Toddy - misfield, chase, rocket throw and batter ran out by a foot. Our catching was good, Tom, Ryan and Jacob all taking good ones and our young side seemed to enjoy the challenge of defending a low score. Plenty of mindless banter from Oscar at first slip kept spirits up!
