Redbourn 2 v Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 11 A on Mon 06 Jul 2009 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won Berkhamsted won by 100 runs

Match report Berkhamsted U11s clinched the top spot in their group with a ruthless win over Redbourn in the penultimate game of the league season. Put into bat, Berkhamsted got off to their customary poor start losing a wicket in the first over, but George Lewarne (26), Jack Filer (29) and Ted Stanford (13) pushed the score beyond 60 to calm any nerves. But not for long. Some good bowling and three suicidal run outs brought Redbourn right back into the game at 86-7. Jonathan Butler Caddle pitched in with a timely 13 helping Berko to a modest total of 113-9. It looked like game on, and Redbourn's opening pair were up for the fight, but George Carter produced an absolutely superb one-handed catch in the first over to spark a deluge of wickets that saw the young Redbourn team dismissed for just 13. Harry Ormerod and Jonathan Butler Caddle took 3 wickets each, but the credit goes to all 11 players who were outstanding in the field. Now for the County quarter finals where things start to get serious!
