Scorecard

Tring Park 2 v Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 10 Red on Tue 28 Apr 2009 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Tring Park won by 69 runs

Match report Berkhamsted won the toss and captain George Carter elected to bowl first. Despite being the first game of the season the boys put on a good, solid performance in the field, with some fine individual displays, Jack Hunter held on well to take the catch for our 4th wicket. Each of the boys bowled two overs with James Williams taking 2 wickets for 12 runs, Sebastian O'Gorman taking 1 for 5 and Luke Chevinaux taking 1 for 17. Eddie Duncombe was the most economical giving away just 3 runs off his 2 overs. Unfortunately we gave away a few too many extras compared to Tring (44 against 20).

At the crease we found it hard going against a very able selection of bowlers in the Tring side, losing a total of 10 wickets during the innings, including several close run-outs. The boys showed commendable spirit throughout and kept battling away. Jack Hunter was our top scorer with 7 and James Williams managed to score our only 4 of the innings.

All in all, a promising start to the new season, just a little more practice required on the weaker areas.
