Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Tring won by 50 runs

Match report Sadly all the enthusiasm from the KL game seemed to vanish with the sunshine as a very lack lustre display saw BCC soundly beaten by the Tring Sharks. BCC won the toss and put Tring into bat and it looked like being a tight game with Jack Hadden and Charlie Ormerod bowling very well against a well drilled opening Tring pair. Unfortunately BCC were unable to sustain this effort and some lazy fielding and inaccurate bowling saw Tring start to post an imposing score. BCC desperately needed wickets but they were in very short supply with catches dropping short and stumps being missed by a whisker. As per our last match with Tring, we were still in touch before the last batsman came in. An excellent first over (6 balls just outside the off stump) prevented their star player playing his effective leg-side shots, but BCC let this slip and in so doing saw themselves on the end of an onslaught, Will Darrugh scoring 35 and taking the score to 295-1.

Seeing such a total to chase clearly demoralised the team and with the exception of the last pair of Alfie Jones and Charlie Ormerod, along with Jake Alderson and Will Gardner, little was contributed in the way of effort. Disappointing day, not so much as in the result as we were beaten by the better side, but more so for the lack of enthusiasm.
