Shenley Village (County Final) v Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 10 Red on Sun 27 Jul 2008 at 2pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Shenley Village won by 15 runs

Match report A great quality game, which could have gone either way ended in heartbreak for Berko's valiant players as they fell 15 runs short of their target. Jack Filer won the toss and put Shenley into bat. Charlie Nicholls took a wicket with his first ball and after 4 overs Shenley were looking shell shocked as some good bowling and suicidal running between the wickets resulted in them losing 5 wickets in their first pairing. The next 3 partnerships gradually repaired the damage and Shenley finished on a gettable 214, Ben Mackey being Berkos top bowler with 3 wickets including a superb caught & bowled.

We needed solid partnerships from all 4 pairs but it just wasn't to be. Against very accurate Shenley bowling our first pair of Jack and Ben struggled to make an impression and lost 3 wickets. Harry and Charlie repaired the damage with a steady 13 but sadly our third pairing of Anna and Ollie had a bad day at the office and were dismissed 4 times including a nightmare yes/no/maybe/oh no run out. This left our final pair of George and Jonathan with a mountain to climb and although they batted really positively 2 further wickets fell and Berko were defeated by 15 runs. Jonathan Butler-Caddle top scored with 13.
