Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 11 A v Tring Park on Wed 14 May 2008 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Tring won by 21 runs

Match report Both Tring and Berko fielded inexperienced teams. However a very close and hard fought match was played. Tring won the toss and sent Berko in to bat. The opening partnership of James Spall and Matthew Simpson scored 5 runs not out. The 2nd partnership of Christian and Daniel scored -3 runs. However the stumping of Christian at the non strikers end was a bit harsh as Christian wasn’t attempting to back up but just didn’t know he had to stay behind the crease. It was an expensive lesson but that’s how you learn by playing. The third partnership of Myles and James Smith made 18 runs by some wayward bowling by Tring and because they didn’t lose a wicket. The last partnership of James Insch with Robert Parker managed a creditable partnership of 17 runs with James top scoring with 9 runs including a magnificent 4 which raced to the boundry
Berkhamstead scored 258 for 3 wicket giving Tring a target of 234 to chase.

Berkos bowling was a bit astray at times but the inexperienced boys improved as they grew in confidence. James Spall 4 runs, James Insch 3 runs and Robert Parker 3 runs were the pick of the bowlers.
James Insch on his debut was very impressive and captained the team well.
