Tring Park v Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 9 Red on Tue 24 Jun 2008 at 6:00
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won Berkhamsted won by 32 runs

Match report I am very pleaed to report that, at last, the Under 9s recorded their first win. We scored 292 runs for 3 and Tring scored 260 for 3.

George Carter was Captain for the game and having lost the toss we were asked to bat first. Manager Chris Mottershead asked the boys to concentrate on one thing and that was to avoid any run-outs. Each and every one of them stuck to this principle and we had no run-outs - which was a first. All the boys batted well but George obviously had his eye in and scored 39 runs, an amazing innings of 8 fours, 2 twos and 3 singles. His batting partner Joe just couldn't get a look in - commonly known as hogging the strike!
We then proceeded to bowl quite consistently with James Sibley, Louie Allen and Eddie Holderness each taking a wicket. There was also some excellent fielding with all the boys walking in and staying on their toes. The boys really wanted this win and certainly earned it. Well done and now we can look forward with confidence to the next game.
