Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Radlett won by 152 runs

Match report Berko Under 9s came up against a very good cricket side who had 8 accurate and experienced bowlers. Radlett won the toss and decided to bat first. Ben Miles opened the bowling and got us off to a good start with a wicket in the first over. However, this was the last wicket for quite some time and Radlett began to build up a good innings total. Ben took a further second wicket in his second over and in the final over bowled by Jack Hadden, Ben Stockton made a great catch. Radlett ended the innings at 300. Our boys then had to face some very quick and accurate bowlers and we suffered throughout our innings losing quite a number of wickets. The boys kept their heads up and tried hard however in an effort to catch the runs we tried to run too often and ended up being run out six times! Obviously there is work to be done on judging the right time to take a run. We eventually ended our innings with a score of 148. James Cann and Jordan Lewis both took hits to their hands and thighs and felt they were in the firing line in the innings but batted on bravely. Joe Mottershead and Toby O'Gorman both batted and bowled steadily which was good to see.

Anyway, well done to all the boys. It was a wonderful summer's evening and we all had great fun.
